Printable material manufacturer and distributor Soyang Europe and waste management specialists, Blue Castle Group are to collaborate with the organisers of this month’s The Print Show, to offer free PVC recycling for all exhibitors. Using the event to launch their innovative new recycling scheme, Soyang Europe and Blue Castle will offer the opportunity for all PVC banner graphics, prints or stand construction to be recycled during and after the event.

The companies’ joint scheme offers a much sought-after solution to the industry’s PVC waste dilemma and aims to pioneer the use of PVC banner material as an environmentally sustainable substrate. Welcoming the offer to assist with the exhibition’s waste management, Event Director Chris Davies states, “The Print Show is excited to be part of the new joint venture between Soyang Europe and The Blue Castle Group. Having seen the PVC recycling plant myself, this is a game changer for what usually ends up in landfill and with an ever increasing need to protect the planet, this PVC recycling solution is something the whole industry needs to get behind.”

“I’m very proud to support and showcase this exciting development and as the exhibition organiser, we will be inviting all exhibitors to utilise the recycling area, having any PVC waste generated at the show recycled,” he continues. “I encourage everyone attending the event that has PVC waste to speak with the Soyang Europe and Blue Castle teams at the show.”

Renowned for its substantial range of printable media, Soyang Europe has seen growing demand from its customers to find a solution for recycling PVC banner material. “Uptake of the scheme has been extremely positive since its launch,” says Mark Mashiter; Soyang Europe’s Managing Director. “The Print Show is an ideal opportunity to introduce it to a wider audience and for visitors to discuss its merits face to face with members of our and Blue Castle’s team. We’ll be on hand on our main stand and in the recycling area to assist visitors and exhibitors alike.”

Blue Castle Group is an established waste and energy consultancy based in Lincolnshire that has developed and rigorously tested the machinery and processes needed to convert PVC banner into a reusable format. The company’s CEO, Marie Harley, states, “We’re enjoying disrupting the print industry with the recycling scheme! Due to the complexity of the challenge, it’s been several years in the making but close collaboration with our partner companies has enabled us to bring it to life. We’re thoroughly looking forward to engaging further with printers at the exhibition.”
