Mark Mashiter, Group Managing Director of Soyang Europe, discusses the importance of finishing solutions and the partnerships the company has built to supply its customers with leading equipment.
Investment in a printer is only part of the challenge for print service providers. Let’s face it; anyone can plough money into a new printer, but without the right level of finishing power and expertise to back this up, you will struggle to get far with new ventures.
At Soyang Europe, we recognise this, offering customers access to a range of both print and finishing solutions through our Soyang Hardware division. Couple this with the array of media we also offer, and we can work with customers to help improve efficiency across the print production process.
However, the hard work does not stop there for the Soyang team; we are constantly on the lookout for partners that we believe can help our customers succeed and grow. Recently, we struck up a new partnership with Solent Sewing & Welding Solutions, a company based in Portsmouth that manufactures its own special equipment and sewing machines and provides technology from other leading brands.
This new deal will see Soyang Hardware become Solent Sewing & Welding Solutions’ partner in the sign and display market, granting Solent access to a sector where they previously did not have a presence. Crucially for our customers, this will also help open their eyes to new technology they may not have been aware of and explore how these solutions can improve efficiency in the long-term.
First off, Solent Sewing & Welding Solutions has served as the exclusive partner for Miller Weldmaster Corp. USA in the UK and Ireland since 2004. A well-known brand, Miller Weldmaster Corp. USA provides a range of fabric welding solutions, of which many are designed to run as sign and banner welders.
Aside from this, Solent Sewing & Welding Solutions has developed several of its own solutions, including the Solent Texsew Pro multi-functional sewing system. Designed for use in the sign industry, the machine can be used to create applications such as lightboxes and exhibition graphics, as well as sew flags and PVC banners.
The Solent Texsew Pro is quite a different market to our existing Meevo offering and fills a totally different gap in the market where there is a need for a sewing machine that is multi-functional to sew tapes, hook and loop and other materials.
More choice for customers
A partnership of this sort is a win-win for all parties: Soyang, our customers and Solent Sewing & Welding Solutions. For Solent in particular, it grants the company access to potential customers in a new market, while allowing them to retain a major part in selling machinery.
Solent will be involved throughout the sales process and continue with the technical side in relation to machine installation and after-sales service, as well as parts supply. This will ensure customers get access to the highest level of support with their new investment.
Putting such an arrangement in place will make the buying process even easier, and indeed more efficient, for Soyang customers. They already have access to everything from print media through to printing, processing and finishing equipment, and the addition of Solent Sewing & Welding Solutions and Miller Weldmaster Corp. USA machines offers them even more options.
