To accompany our G-Floor product blog, we’ve teamed up with International Artist, Emily Campbell who has been creating stunningly beautiful, bespoke vinyl flooring for over 20 years.

Her unusual and bespoke flooring, which she promotes under the name of Blue Butterfly Flooring, utilises G-Floor for both domestic and commercial spaces, requiring a hard-wearing and anti-slip surface.  Her clients either choose from stock designs, which are then adapted to fit specific dimensions or incorporate individual client elements, making each floor unique.

“Coming from a Fine Art background, I’ve always had a fascination with flooring, seeing the ground as a normally underused space for art.  The floor in a room can dramatically shift the dynamic of a space by either creating drama, or a sense of tranquillity.  We’re more used to floors being solid surfaces, such as wood, carpet or ceramic, but my designs are all about creating illusions, telling stories and transforming spaces.”

“The images used within the flooring designs are taken from above, emulating the sensation of standing in the actual landscape. Through the use of photography, I create a world that contains both reality and the imaginary. Through this ‘experiential décor’ you really get the sense you are standing in an actual landscape.  Every floor is completely unique and I thoroughly enjoy new challenges set by clients, especially when there is an existing floor surface or interior design concept that needs to be incorporated.”

“G- Floor has made a massive difference to my business because it is so durable.  This means I can now offer my floors to commercial businesses in retail, education and leisure environments.  The other benefit of G-Floor is that the design is printed on the back of the floor, so there is no need for an additional laminate to protect the print. I’ve worked with Vinyline for some time who provide all the print requirements I need perfectly and provide an installation service to my customers, so it really is a bespoke service for some very special customers.”
