Brand and signage consultancy Morgans Consult has invested in a new Jetrix XGR320 superwide-format UV printer from Soyang Europe to support expansion into a wider range of large-format print markets and allow it to take on more complex work.

Based in Cardiff, Wales, Morgans Consult designs, manufactures and installs signage and branding solutions. The company works with clients across multiple sectors including high-end hospitality, retail, visitor attractions, education institutions and healthcare providers, with the BBC, Welsh Government, Cardiff City Football Club, the Football Association of Wales, and Café Nero among its customers.

The company is constantly looking at ways to improve its offering to clients, with investment in new technology part of this strategy. Due to increased demand, it targeted a printer that would allow it to deliver enhanced colour production and sharper detail, as well as the ability to work at a faster pace, enabling it to deliver multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.

After speaking with the expert team at Soyang Europe, the company selected the Jetrix XGR320 to join its production line-up. Running at a top speed of 114sq m/hr on media up to 3.2m wide, the superwide-format UV machine can print in a wide range of colours including white and light-coloured ink. The device can produce print at resolutions as high as 1200dpi, making it suitable for applications such as signs, wall graphics, flags, banners and retail and exhibition graphics.

Peter Barnes, Head of Marketing at Morgans Consult, said this flexibility was key for the company when it was deciding on which machine to purchase. He said the Jetrix XGR320, which was installed at the company’s speciality Cardiff facility in January, is already playing a major part in its expansion plans.

“The investment was made in response to increasingly ambitious signage and graphics projects,” he said. “We wanted improved print quality, high speed output, and the ability to handle heavy and wide format materials.

“The machine has had a positive impact on our production capabilities. With the increased capacity and efficiency it brings, we’re now able to handle a higher volume of work, particularly time-critical projects, without compromising on quality. It’s also given us greater flexibility in the types of jobs we can take on, opening up opportunities to support a wider range of clients and applications.

“With instant LED curing, vibrant colour reproduction, and enhanced mechanical stability, our clients now benefit from faster turnarounds and consistently premium results. It is better for the planet too; the printer uses environmentally friendly, Greenguard–certified inks, which support sustainability without compromising on performance.”

As to the types of markets that Morgans Consult will target with the new machine, Peter said that the company will explore new opportunities in large-format print and more complex applications.

“Looking ahead, the Jetrix will play a key role in supporting our growth,” Peter said. “Its capability and reliability give us the confidence to scale up production as demand increases, while maintaining the quality and turnaround times our clients expect.

“As we continue to grow, having this level of in-house capability allows us to be more agile, reduce reliance on outsourcing, and offer a broader, more competitive service to both existing and new clients.”
