When your banner is printed on both sides, how do you ensure each delivers impact?
Here’s the challenge: your banners are hanging from the pillars and your flags and pendants adorn the exhibition hall. But it’s a sunny day. As the light streams in, the images on one side of the banners bleed through to the other. At best, it looks messy. At worst, it neuters the impact of both sides of your banners, making messages illegible and images confusing.
That’s when you need blockout banner material.
What is a blockout banner?
A blockout banner (you might also see it described as a blackout banner) uses three layers of material to give your banners clarity. At the front and rear are the two printed sides of your banner. In the middle, a blackout screen ensures that whatever the conditions, whether under full sun or the glare of a spotlight, you’ll only ever see the banner face you’re supposed to see.

Which blockout banner material?
Our blockout banners are created either from 100% polyester or a PVC/polyester blend. In general, the larger the banner and the harsher the elements the more likely you’ll need to opt for a knife-edged PVC/polyester blockout banner material, because it will better withstand high stress conditions.
In contrast, smaller banners or flags – or banners intended for indoor applications – may benefit from a more delicate semi-coated banner.
